I joined Impact Network in June this year, and since then, I've had the privilege of engaging in both a management and teacher training program. In the short time I've been here, I've come to appreciate the profound impact of continuous professional development on our staff’s growth and the growth of the organization. I’m excited to share with you some of my takeaways from these trainings!

Management Training: Professional Verbal Communication

For our management team, a comprehensive people management training series was already underway when I joined. Intrigued by the opportunity to enhance my skills, I decided to immerse myself in the topic of professional verbal communication. As I delved into this subject, I discovered its vital role in fostering effective relationships and promoting a healthy work environment. Professional verbal communication goes beyond the words we speak, it encompasses tone, body language, and active listening. It's about creating an atmosphere where team members feel valued and heard. The training sessions not only equipped me with valuable knowledge but also allowed me to practice these skills in a supportive environment. The discussions and role-playing exercises challenged me to refine my communication style, making me a more effective manager.

Teacher Training: Embracing Professionalism

In the teacher training program, I found that the topic of professionalism had been specifically requested by our educators. This showed their commitment to delivering quality education to our students and maintaining high standards. Professionalism in teaching extends beyond the classroom. It involves punctuality, dress code, ethical conduct, and dedication to continuous improvement. Through role-playing and peer discussions, I witnessed our teachers' dedication to honing their professional skills. It was inspiring to see them embrace this journey, knowing that their efforts directly impact the lives of the children we serve.

Child Protection Refresher Session

Within our teacher training program, Impact Network provides various additional sessions. One such session that left a lasting impression on me was the child protection refresher workshop. The content was meticulously organized and featured thought-provoking questions that challenged us to think critically about our responsibilities in ensuring the safety and well-being of our students.
